Glass Jaw is a L.O.F. (Line Of Flight) that originally ran on Instagram the week of November 2, 2019. The prompt was a pairing of the phrase glass jaw with an image of a SpaceX rocket's atmospheric effects. See Author's Note below for more information on L.O.F.s.
Previous L.O.F.:
In this Line Of Flight, we paired the text overton window with the image of a dirty window.
Prompted by this pairing, this L.O.F. reimagines the overton window to be a semi-opaque and complicated threshold object where all who attempt to pass through it, including light, become stuck. This object is a beautiful imprisonment. A great thickening between things: between concepts, between bodies. A threshold object where things go to become enmeshed. This overton window is an object where things enter but no things exit, an interstice of capture, where provisional improvisation and organized action is currency. |
Upcoming L.O.F.:
This upcoming Line Of Flight will be based on the pairing of the text E. coli with the image of Confederate Civil War reenactors.
Prompted by this pairing, this L.O.F. will tell the story of a Confederate Civil War First Lieutenant officer–Lt. E. Coli–who grapples with the problems wrought when one's racism is evacuated from the lower intestines out through their rectum onto a nation, dividing the states, separating brothers from sisters and fathers from sons, and covering us all in toxic shit. |
