An anti-gesamtkunstwerk gesamtkunstwerk is a complex object or event (a total work of art) that produces totalizing effects, but does so utilizing a force that is decidedly not top-down–or at least never only top-down.

Niagra Falls is an example of a classical gesamtkunstwerk, a tsunami wave is an example of an anti-gesamtkunstwerk gesamtkunstwerk.
